Derived reference estimate using the 500 mm standard guide with the 493 mm SAI cylinder: the catalog mass of the otherwise corresponding 500 mm TSAI assembly, less 9.34 g/mm × 7 mm for the shorter SAI cylinder. This assumes unchanged guide hardware. It is not a separately published or measured mass for this special-stroke configuration and is not packed shipping weight.
Features and Operation
Compressed air alternately acts on the two sides of the piston to extend and retract the load plate. The SAI cylinder provides axial thrust; the twin guide rods guide the load and help resist transverse forces and moments. The guide body provides mounting faces in several directions, and the adjustable air cushions control end-of-stroke deceleration.
Linear bearings suit cylinder pushing, high-precision applications and low-friction movement. Select the correct bearing-type and bore curve for the actual load position; axial thrust is not an allowable side-load rating.
External and Mounting Dimensions
Dimensions below use the symbols in the TSAI drawing, in millimetres unless a thread is stated. They identify individual drawing dimensions and must not be combined as a generic length × width × height box. Drawing symbol S is a mounting thread here; it is unrelated to the magnetic ordering suffix or the load-chart distance S.

Sensor and Accessory Compatibility
The catalog holder for 100 mm TSAI cylinders is F-TSAI80E. It is used with E-profile CMSE reed sensors or DMSE electronic sensors. This S model has the magnetic piston needed for sensing.
| Optional sensor example |

| DMSE-P020 |
Compatible E-profile PNP three-wire electronic-sensor example, 2 m direct lead |
These examples are separate accessories, not supplied electrical configurations. Select the correct supply, output circuit and lead option for the machine. Standard CMSE/DMSE sensor temperature is −10 to +70°C; use the most restrictive limit of the cylinder and fitted accessories. Other sensor shapes and legacy SI sensor/holder combinations are not established as TSAI matches by this selection table.
For the sensor fixing screw, the general catalog recommends 0.15–0.20 N·m and specifies an absolute maximum of 0.25 N·m. This value does not apply to guide-frame mounting bolts or holder mounting fasteners. Set the sensing position, tighten and check the indication through the complete stroke; protect the lead from repeated pulling and route it away from power wiring.
Theoretical Axial Force and Guide Load
For this 100 mm bore, the catalog gives a 25 mm piston rod, 7853 mm² push-side effective area and 7362 mm² pull-side effective area. Calculated theoretical force = effective area × pressure, with MPa equivalent to N/mm². The reference values below exclude friction and pressure losses; they are not allowable transverse loads or measured output.

| 0.8 MPa |
Push 6282.4 N; pull 5889.6 N |
| 0.9 MPa |
Push 7067.7 N; pull 6625.8 N |
The 0.1 MPa row is a theoretical calculation only and is below the specified 0.15 MPa minimum operating pressure. Calculated values are derived from the catalog effective areas rather than copying inconsistent printed force-table entries.
The TSAIL guide-load graph plots transverse force F in newtons against load distance S in millimetres, with S from 0 to 500 mm and a vertical scale from 0 to 180 N. Use the 100 mm bore curve and the load direction/datum shown in the sketch. S is the load-line distance from the guide-body front datum, not automatically the cylinder stroke. The scale maximum is not this model’s rated load. Exact intermediate limits must be read from the graph; no numerical torsional-moment rating is provided.
For axial sizing, the general cylinder-selection guide uses load factors up to 0.7 for static or slow loads and up to 0.5 at 50–500 mm/s. Check guide side load, moments, stability and stopping energy separately. The TSAI speed limit remains 500 mm/s.

Valve codes in this circuit table do not specify a complete coil-voltage order. Some controller and valve interfaces differ from this cylinder’s port size; suitable connections and tube sizes must be selected, not assumed to screw directly into the cylinder. Circuit examples are from the general catalog and are not additional TSAI package contents.
Installation and Commissioning
Use clean, conditioned air, flush the piping before connection and keep the first one or two thread turns free of sealing tape or compound. Align the cylinder and load, avoid overconstraint and check the guide curves for side forces and moments. Fit speed controls at both ports and increase the setting gradually during commissioning. Adjust the air cushions for the load and speed without fully closing the cushion valves. Additional external stopping or cushioning may be needed for high moving energy.
Factory-prelubricated cylinders generally need no additional oil. If lubrication is introduced, use additive-free ISO VG32 turbine oil and continue the lubrication regime. Isolate electrical and pneumatic energy, release retained pressure and secure the load before maintenance. Plan safe stopping and restarting; a closed-center valve does not guarantee precise intermediate positioning or long-term load holding, and one shared valve does not guarantee synchronized cylinder motion.
Series Ordering Options
TSAI catalog options are M brass sleeve bearings or L linear bearings; bores 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100 mm; standard strokes 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 mm; optional S magnetic piston; and PT default or G pipe threads. The listed maximum stroke is 500 mm. These are series choices, not options all fitted to the current model. Other strokes require special ordering; complete nonstandard cylinders use the next larger standard guide. Standalone guides have their own F-TSAI ordering codes.
Matching Accessory Codes and Conditions
Optional E-profile sensors for this magnetic S cylinder use its bore-matched TSAI holder. Sensors/cables are ordered separately; two supplied holders imply no sensor or cable quantity. Select output, connection and environment for the actual control system. Before energizing verify voltage, polarity, controller input/load, allowable current, switching capacity, residual voltage, leakage current and pin assignment. Reed and solid-state outputs are not equivalent.
Sensor 020/030/050/100: direct leads 2/3/5/10 m. M08/M12: M8/M12 male connectors with 0.5 m leads. M08010/M08020/M08030 and M12010/M12020/M12030: 1/2/3 m leads with the respective connector. Lead length is independent of cylinder stroke. Select a matching M8/M12 female lead only for the corresponding quick connector: B two-wire or C three-wire; direct-lead sensors need none. Female 020/030/050/100: 2/3/5/10 m. B pinout: 1 brown positive, 4 blue negative, 3 unused. C pinout: 1 brown positive, 3 blue negative, 4 black output.
Keep component ratings separate. Cylinder: −20 to +70°C. Ordinary/W/industry sensors: −10 to +70°C. H reed sensor only: −10 to +125°C, no indicator LED; assembly still ≤+70°C. Apply the most restrictive ratings of every fitted part; confirm actual female-cable electrical, temperature and environmental ratings. A05/A06: direct leads only, no NPN/PNP, M8/M12 quick connector or added W. A05-CMSE also excludes H. Recommended industry-cable bend radius: 19 mm.
Waterproof/oil-resistant sensors do not make the cylinder or whole installation waterproof, immersion-rated or universally oil compatible. Avoid explosive atmospheres, strong magnetic fields, aggressive chemicals, excessive shock, rapid temperature changes and magnetic debris. No prolonged immersion of waterproof sensors; protect other sensors from water. Protect industry sensors against unsuitable temperature, dust, water and oil; confirm actual oil/environment suitability and protect oil-resistant versions against weld spatter. Retain original sensor-fixing torque, sensing-position and cable-routing precautions.

Optional Connections and Air Preparation
C = either of the two independent G1/2 female cylinder working ports, each alternately supplying and exhausting its own chamber. Select connections and flow controls separately for each chamber; do not bridge the two ports. U = optional upstream air preparation before the directional valve, not a third cylinder port. Inline controls need their own matching connections; listed tube dimensions identify the required tubing, not another cylinder port. No exhaust silencer or port plug is assigned to a cylinder working port. Tube OD is in mm unless stated otherwise; compression and tubing sizes show OD × ID. All listed options are selected and ordered separately.

| U |
GAFR30015SG,GAFR40015SG |
Optional, separately purchased: C serves either independent G1/2 chamber line, retaining supply/exhaust through the directional valve; U precedes that valve. Thread matching alone does not establish flow capacity, required quantities, clearance or speed: check load, stroke, tube length and operating point. Original circuit examples are sizing context, not package/direct-fit lists.
Cylinder: 0.15–1 MPa, −20–70°C. Apply the lowest working-pressure limit and intersect all component temperature ranges; proof is not working pressure. Use clean air filtered ≤40 µm; retain original lubrication and cylinder/guide precautions. Positive-pressure air only: component 10 Torr ratings do not cover tubes/assembly vacuum.
Match G1/2; PT taper ≠ G parallel. Seal to the actual mating thread/seat, keeping sealant out of air paths. Support tubes/components; allow wrench access and full guide travel. Swivels orient, not continuously rotate. Isolate stored air and restrain the load before assembly, removal or service.
Push-in: exact OD; compression/locknut: exact OD and accepted ID. Match every branch/unequal end. Cut square; reject damaged/oval tube; insert/retain as instructed; leak-check before use. No approximate inch/metric or ID substitution.
PHF/GPHF: male RA connects; female RB requires its own mate/seal in the same chamber line. Match BB/BD and G-equivalent opposite-end gender/size in the table. No open branches or chamber bridges. Ordinary/mini/-S labels imply neither uniform internal material nor copper-free construction.
Plastic push-ins/direct or tube-side controls: ≤1 MPa, −20–70°C. BPC/BPOC/GBPC: ≤0.9 MPa; BKC/BB/BD and G equivalents: ≤1 MPa. Both metal groups: 0–150°C, limited here to 0–70°C. Tubes may lower limits further. Check seal, oil and environmental compatibility.
At the cylinder: A throttles R→tube exhaust/free tube→R (meter-out); B throttles tube→R inlet/free R→tube exhaust (meter-in). R is the cylinder thread. Follow load/circuit and body symbol, not valve-port interpretations. Adjust slowly from a restricted setting, test both travel directions, never force stops. Not zero-leak safety isolation or load-holding.
PTL/GPTL: push-lock after setting. For 1/2, recommended cap-rotation torque 0.32 N·m is not pipe-installation torque. PSL/PSS/GPSS and PSA/GPSA use their own locks. Where listed, PTL mini -MS has no separate internal-material table; standard -S contains aluminum/polymers and SUS304.
PSA/GPSA/listed -S: tube-side controls needing separate exact-OD fittings, not male cylinder attachments. In each chamber line follow the check/throttle symbol and retain free reverse flow; no A/B order-code choice. Before stacking restrictions check pressure loss, exhaust response and motion stability.
ASC: one-way inline control, two G1/2 female ports; add matching male connections. Follow P/A and check/throttle markings for controlled/free flow in the chosen chamber line. Rating 0.05–0.95 MPa, −20–70°C, air filtered ≤40 µm; circuit ≤0.95 MPa. Not a regulator, guaranteed speed setting or safety shutoff.
GAFR S: optional 40 µm filtration/regulation before the directional valve; two G1/2 female ports need separate matching male connections, never female-to-female attachment. No reverse-flow valve: never install in bidirectional chamber lines. Follow IN→OUT; verify supply flow/pressure drop.
GAFR: inlet ≤1 MPa, adjustment 0.15–0.9 MPa, −5–70°C, nonfreezing. Loaded cylinder supply must meet its own and lower circuit limits; setting does not guarantee chamber pressure. Selected 200/300/400: PC bowl, differential/manual drain, included bracket, round snap-in gauge, 40 µm element. Check bowl/oil/cleaner/environment suitability; filtration does not guarantee dew point. G gauge bar/MPa.
US98A/UE95A: optional standard blue 100 m coils; no whole-coil-use requirement. OD×ID (mm): 6×4, 8×5, 10×6.5, 12×8. Working 1 MPa at 23°C, derate as temperature rises; burst is not working pressure. US −20–70°C, UE −40–70°C; cylinder limits both to −20–70°C before stricter fittings. Check lubricant/seal/environment compatibility.
Minimum recommended bend radii, in OD order 6, 8, 10, 12 mm: US98A 15, 20, 25, 35 mm; UE95A 12, 17, 20, 30 mm. Avoid sharp bends, rubbing, tension and motion kinks. Equal OD does not prove low-pressure thin-wall or other length/color suitability; only verified standard-pressure complete codes/exact dimensions are listed. Listing does not promise stock or included accessories.
