Product Features

The large-bore SC range is specified to ISO 6430. Its compact bidirectional piston seal incorporates an oil-reservoir function, and tie rods connect the end covers to the aluminium barrel. At the same bore, SC has a shorter overall length than ISO 15552 standard cylinders; this does not establish interchangeability. Pneumatic cushioning is adjustable. Magnetic-piston and mounting options are available according to the selected configuration. The 150 °C feature requires specified high-temperature seals; it is not the rating of this default NBR selection. Confirm the exact special-cylinder rating.

Force and System Selection

Parameter Value
Effective piston areas Extension 12272 mm²; retraction 11468 mm²
Theoretical force at 0.5 MPa Extension 6136 N; retraction 5734 N
Force calculation Force (N) = effective area (mm²) × pressure (MPa), before friction and dynamic losses
Load-ratio guidance Up to 0.7 at static/low speed and 0.5 at 50–500 mm/s; stay within this cylinder’s 30–500 mm/s range. Not a guaranteed payload or structural safety factor
System selection No bore-specific speed/valve/tube sizing row is supplied here; size the actual system without extrapolating a smaller cylinder.

Theoretical force, not safe payload. Account for losses, load factor and stability. The 0.1 MPa reference-table point is below the operating-pressure minimum.

Reference speeds depend on load, pressure, valve flow, tube length, fittings, cushion adjustment and exhaust backpressure. Flow area is a circuit-sizing reference, not piston area or a guaranteed achieved speed. Long strokes require stability, buckling, guidance and installation checks.

Installation and Maintenance

Qualified staff must select/install/service the system. Guard motion; secure cylinders, loads and attachments. Before service, isolate air/electricity, vent pressure and secure motion. Design safe air/power-loss, emergency-stop and restart responses against unexpected extension or dropped loads.

Check protection from corrosive gas, chemicals, solvents, salt, water/steam, explosive atmospheres, vibration, radiant heat and sun. Protect sliding surfaces from damage, dust, humidity, splashes, oil/coolant. Prevent condensate freezing. Special seals do not extend this rating; external magnetic fields may disturb cylinders/sensors.

Use clean, dry, purified air, not raw compressor discharge. Remove water, particles, oxidized oil, tar/carbon; filter to 40 µm or finer. Confirm suitability for other fluids/synthetic-oil contaminants. Excessively dry air may shorten life unless designed for it.

Factory lubrication normally needs no added oil. Once introduced, continue additive-free ISO-VG32 turbine oil; incompatible oil may swell seals. Guide: ≤25 mg/m³ oil mist, 0.5–5 drops/1000 L. Size the lubricator for flow; avoid excess oil.

Blow pipes clean; start sealing tape 1.5–2 threads back to keep fragments out. Use suitable flame-resistant/metal tube near hot spatter. Check each tube’s pressure, temperature, OD/ID and bend radius; generic nylon/PU advice cannot override its rating.

PT1/2 piping torque: 12–15 N·m with the specified mating connection; not a G/NPT installation or sensor-adjustment torque.

Use speed controls at both ports; start closed/open slowly. Meter-out commonly stabilizes motion/reduces startup runout. Adjust cushioning gradually to load/speed, avoiding impact, rebound or forcing the screw. High mass/speed may need engineered deceleration or an external absorber.

Compressibility/leakage prevent assuming precise prolonged mid-stroke stopping with a closed-center valve or precise cylinder synchronization. Match bore/stroke/cushion/mounts/sensors to load, pressure and travel; allow installation/adjustment margin, favor suitable standard strokes and check air consumption.

Align rod/load motion; independently guide side load, bending and torque—rod-end joints do not replace guides. Check long-rod buckling/sag/vibration; add suitable intermediate/front-cover support and limit unsupported lever arms. Swinging links need CA/CB/TC pivots, not forced rigid LB mounts. Support height increases fastener/bracket torque; orient flanges for push/pull loads.

During long storage, operate periodically and prevent corrosion, following air-quality/lubrication requirements.

Separate options; no included-kit or stock promise. Connect both SC125 working ports using NPT1/2 fittings and the specified seal; check insertion depth, wrench/rotation clearance, flow and tube loading. PT/G/NPT are not interchangeable. The M27×2.0 rod thread is not an air port.

Discontinued families are historical service references; confirm availability or an approved replacement before ordering.

Use suitable soft nylon/PU tubing: exact OD, plus ID for compression. Inch tube sizes are exact: 1/4 = 6.35, 5/16 = 7.9375, 3/8 = 9.525 and 1/2 = 12.7 mm; do not substitute nominal metric sizes. NPHF has male RA and extra female RB, both NPT1/2; connect or seal RB as designed. RB is not a tube socket. Tees/Y/cross/distributors must not bridge chambers or unrelated controls.

Push-in fittings, direct/threadless controls and listed silencers: 0–1 MPa, −20–70 °C. NBPC: 0–1 MPa, 0–150 °C; SC path 0.15–1 MPa. NBKC/NBB/NBD/NBZ: 0–1 MPa, 0–150 °C; SC path 0.15–1 MPa. Using the general cylinder reference −20–70 °C, 0–150 °C parts limit the assembly to 0–70 °C or narrower. Obey lower valve/tube/sensor limits; component vacuum data do not rate the cylinder assembly. NBPC does not share the metric BPC 0.9 MPa limit.

Install threads with the body hex, not the locking nut; insert tubing fully before tightening. The printed 1/3 in compression ID is literal; do not round it to a metric tube. NBB/NBD use one thread standard: BB male–male, BD male–female; other ends are labelled in the table. Match its gender/size and flow; no cross-thread conversion. NBZ closes permitted unused auxiliary ports only, never active cylinder ports.

At the cylinder, A meters thread→tube exhaust (meter-out), with free reverse supply; B meters tube→cylinder supply (meter-in). A is usual for double action; B needs a designed meter-in circuit. Start closed, open slowly; closed leakage is allowed, so these are not shutoffs. NPTL caps on 1/2-port variants: limit: 0.32 N·m, not pipe-thread torque. Never force caps/end stops. NPSA is an inch tube-to-tube control without A/B suffixes; match both ODs and the body check/throttle symbol.

Silencers: separate valve exhaust only. Match its actual thread, flow and backpressure; not cylinder-port fittings, inlet filters or shutoffs. NBESL adjusts backpressure.

ASC30015T: separate two-female-NPT1/2-port inline control; needs male fittings. Follow P/A and the check/throttle symbol. 0.05–0.95 MPa, −20–70 °C and 40 µm-or-finer filtered air; SC path 0.15–0.95 MPa before lower limits. Rated flow does not guarantee cylinder speed.

GAFR30015ST,GAFR40015ST: separate upstream NPT1/2 filter/regulator, 40 µm element, PC bowl, differential/manual drain, bracket and round gauge, no reverse-flow valve. Inlet ≤1 MPa, setting 0.15–0.9 MPa, −5–70 °C non-freezing. Respect IN/OUT, flow/pressure loss, condensate, bowl environment and all downstream limits; not a cylinder fitting or vacuum regulator.

Match specified inch tubing and both endpoint fittings. Metric coils, PSA/GPSA and PPA are not specified for inch sockets. Coil length and tubing pressure/temperature must suit the actual circuit.

A 16 × 11 mm reference tube needs separately specified 16 mm endpoint fittings and controls; the listed inch sockets do not make that connection.

    Force and System Selection

    Parameter Value
Effective piston areas Extension 12272 mm²; retraction 11468 mm²
    Theoretical force at 0.5 MPa Extension 6136 N; retraction 5734 N
Force calculation Force (N) = effective area (mm²) × pressure (MPa), before friction and dynamic losses
Load-ratio guidance Up to 0.7 at static/low speed and 0.5 at 50–500 mm/s; stay within this cylinder’s 30–500 mm/s range. Not a guaranteed payload or structural safety factor
System selection No bore-specific speed/valve/tube sizing row is supplied here; size the actual system without extrapolating a smaller cylinder.

Theoretical force, not safe payload. Account for losses, load factor and stability. The 0.1 MPa reference-table point is below the operating-pressure minimum.

Reference speeds depend on load, pressure, valve flow, tube length, fittings, cushion adjustment and exhaust backpressure. Flow area is a circuit-sizing reference, not piston area or a guaranteed achieved speed. Long strokes require stability, buckling, guidance and installation checks.

    Installation and Maintenance

Qualified staff must select/install/service the system. Guard motion; secure cylinders, loads and attachments. Before service, isolate air/electricity, vent pressure and secure motion. Design safe air/power-loss, emergency-stop and restart responses against unexpected extension or dropped loads.

Check protection from corrosive gas, chemicals, solvents, salt, water/steam, explosive atmospheres, vibration, radiant heat and sun. Protect sliding surfaces from damage, dust, humidity, splashes, oil/coolant. Prevent condensate freezing. Special seals do not extend this rating; external magnetic fields may disturb cylinders/sensors.

Use clean, dry, purified air, not raw compressor discharge. Remove water, particles, oxidized oil, tar/carbon; filter to 40 µm or finer. Confirm suitability for other fluids/synthetic-oil contaminants. Excessively dry air may shorten life unless designed for it.

Factory lubrication normally needs no added oil. Once introduced, continue additive-free ISO-VG32 turbine oil; incompatible oil may swell seals. Guide: ≤25 mg/m³ oil mist, 0.5–5 drops/1000 L. Size the lubricator for flow; avoid excess oil.

Blow pipes clean; start sealing tape 1.5–2 threads back to keep fragments out. Use suitable flame-resistant/metal tube near hot spatter. Check each tube’s pressure, temperature, OD/ID and bend radius; generic nylon/PU advice cannot override its rating.

PT1/2 piping torque: 12–15 N·m with the specified mating connection; not a G/NPT installation or sensor-adjustment torque.

Use speed controls at both ports; start closed/open slowly. Meter-out commonly stabilizes motion/reduces startup runout. Adjust cushioning gradually to load/speed, avoiding impact, rebound or forcing the screw. High mass/speed may need engineered deceleration or an external absorber.

Compressibility/leakage prevent assuming precise prolonged mid-stroke stopping with a closed-center valve or precise cylinder synchronization. Match bore/stroke/cushion/mounts/sensors to load, pressure and travel; allow installation/adjustment margin, favor suitable standard strokes and check air consumption.

Align rod/load motion; independently guide side load, bending and torque—rod-end joints do not replace guides. Check long-rod buckling/sag/vibration; add suitable intermediate/front-cover support and limit unsupported lever arms. Swinging links need CA/CB/TC pivots, not forced rigid LB mounts. Support height increases fastener/bracket torque; orient flanges for push/pull loads.

During long storage, operate periodically and prevent corrosion, following air-quality/lubrication requirements.

    GAFR upstream filter/regulator female NPT1/2: GAFR30015ST,GAFR40015ST
