Features and Operation

  • Crossed rollers provide rigidity and accuracy in a finite-travel guide; the catalog specifies JIS B1506 G2 rollers.
  • Roller count, rail length, guide layout, load direction and preload must be selected together. Per-roller ratings are not a complete assembly dynamic rating.

External and Mounting Dimensions

Dimensions are in millimetres unless another unit is shown. Letter symbols follow the catalog drawing; do not substitute a drawing thread for a mounting screw.

Compatible Parts and Assembly

  • The matched replacement cage is LGC6R19. This set uses two cages with 19 rollers in each. A separately ordered cage is a replacement accessory; it is not the complete guide set.
  • Use LGC6 rails for the selected B arrangement and 200 mm rail length. Equal roller diameter alone does not establish compatibility with another guide family.
  • For a mixed-length rail assembly, use the shorter rail to select roller count and maximum stroke. This model specifies equal 200 mm nominal rails.

Installation, Lubrication and Use

  • The rollers alternate at right angles in a non-recirculating cage. Cage travel is one half of table travel; the maximum usable travel depends on the shortest rail and roller count.
  • Reserve travel below the catalog maximum stroke. High acceleration, unbalanced loading, vertical mounting and vibration can make a cage drift; periodically traverse the full intended stroke to re-centre it.
  • The factory adjusts the guide as a set. Interchanging rails or cages between sets does not guarantee the original accuracy; inspect and readjust clearance after replacement.
  • Remove storage anti-rust oil and apply a lubricant suitable for the environment. Do not mix incompatible lubricants; cycle the guide to distribute lubricant and remove excess.
  • Keep mounting surfaces clean and accurate. Secure the datum rails, insert cages and mating rails, temporarily assemble the table, centre the cages and measure travel before final tightening.
  • Adjust clearance only within the roller contact range, repeatedly checking the table with a gauge until the movement is stable. A pressure plate or wedge arrangement can increase mounting rigidity.
  • Lubrication and inspection intervals depend on the operating conditions. The catalog does not give one fixed replenishment interval or a continuous-use temperature rating for every LGC model.
  • Rail mounting screw: M5X0.8PX20L; recommended tightening torque 6.6 N·m. Clearance-adjusting screw: M5; recommended adjustment torque 0.2 N·m. These are separate operations and torques.

Load Selection and Service Life

  • For the catalog calculation, the guide static rating Ca0 = R × C0 = 48450 N and allowable load Fa0 = R × F0 = 15390 N. Apply the catalog guide layout and loading diagram; do not multiply these values again by the two cages.
  • The dynamic rating depends on vertical or lateral loading and the effective roller count. Use the catalog equations for the actual arrangement; a cage replacement does not establish a new assembly load rating.
  • Static safety factor fs = Ca0 / F: the catalog recommends 1–1.3 for normal operation and 2–3 where shock is present.
  • Nominal travel life L = [(fT / fw) × (Ca / F)]^(10/3) × 100 km. Life in hours = L × 10^6 / (2 × stroke in mm × cycles per minute × 60). Use the temperature factor fT and service factor fw for the actual conditions.
  • The service-factor examples are fw = 1–1.2 for very small vibration at speed up to 0.25 m/s and fw = 1.2–1.5 for small vibration above 0.25 and up to 1 m/s. The temperature-derating graph above 100°C is a calculation reference, not a continuous operating-temperature rating.

Weight Reference

Conservative metal-equivalent outer-envelope estimate for the rail set, density assumption 8 g/cm³; openings and running gaps are not deducted. Not an official material specification or measured net mass. Calculation: 2 × 31 × 15 × 200 mm³ × 0.008 g/mm³; rounded upward to 1488 g. Verify the packed weight if the shipment requires an exact transport mass.
