Features and Operation

  • This 2/2-way valve is normally closed when not energized. The 030 and 050 branches use direct-acting construction.
  • The compact brass body is intended for air, water and oil within the catalog limits. The catalog describes rapid response, easy installation and dismantling.
  • Terminal and grommet electrical entries are separate order-code choices. The grommet option includes the catalog-specified 0.5 m wire.
  • The illustrated mounting bracket is optional. It is not included merely because it appears in a dimensional drawing.

External and Mounting Dimensions

These are the terminal-entry drawing values in the 2W PDF, page 2. Each letter below refers to its own dimension line; do not combine unrelated spans into an assumed overall length × width × height.

Drawing letter Dimension / specification
A 89.5 mm
AB 52 mm
B 39 mm
C 87 mm
D 26 mm
E 56 mm
F 51 mm
G 10 mm
K 5.3 mm
KA 48 mm
P PT1/2
PA 13 mm
Q M5
QA 23 mm

The drawing marks two holes as 2-ØK (K = 5.3 mm), two threaded locations as 2-Q (Q = M5), and the bracket as optional. P is the valve port thread. Use the original views to locate QA, KA and the bracket outline; a listed hole diameter alone does not prove interchangeability.

For detailed product dimensions and mounting drawings, please download and refer to the PDF catalog.

Flow and Performance Reference

Parameter Details
Air chart vertical axis Downstream pressure P2, 0-1.0 MPa; curves identify upstream pressure P1 and sonic / subsonic regions
Air chart flow axis Orifice Ø3 mm: Q in L/min (ANR); marked values 100-600, in steps of 100
Water chart vertical axis Flow Q in L/min, logarithmic scale; visible reference labels from 0.1 to 50
Water chart horizontal axis Pressure differential ΔP = P1 - P2, in MPa; visible labels 0.001-0.6

The original flow charts are on 2W PDF page 2. Chart axes are reading scales, not guaranteed flow ratings. Use the curve for the correct orifice and medium; do not substitute a value estimated from a graph for a tabulated Cv or effective area.

Internal Components - Catalog Reference

The following numbered key is the catalog illustration for 2W030 (terminal), on PDF page 1. It is a drawing reference, not an included-parts quantity list or a list of independent ordering codes. Other size and entry versions must be checked against their own assembly.

Drawing number Component

Catalog note: the extra-large-flow T type has no filter element. The filter shown in the reference key must not be interpreted as included in a T configuration.

Mounting Accessory Reference

The 2W catalog directs accessory orders to the 2S accessory ordering information (printed page 194). That shared ordering table identifies F-2S050LB for this size.

The bracket is optional. The supplied catalog does not tabulate a separate bracket weight or a package-component count. Select the bracket for the actual valve family and drawing; legacy and new bracket compatibility must not be inferred from a similar listing name.

Series Ordering Options

These are alternative series choices, not additional configurations included with this order. The Model Code Explained table above states the actual selection.

Ordering category Available catalog options

Matching Accessory Codes and Conditions

The following are separately ordered service parts or optional mounting accessories, not additional items promised with the complete valve. Keep the original voltage, electrical entry, normal state, insulation class and generation checks.

Legacy service references apply only when maintaining an existing 2W valve. Parts for the supplied 2WA valve are identified separately; the delivery policy does not make the two generations interchangeable.

Item Complete codes and use
Existing legacy 2W valve — service coil Separately ordered service coil for an existing 2WX05015B: DC24V, terminal / DIN entry, 17.0 mm bore and default Class B insulation. Use the normally-closed application rating and verify the installed coil nameplate. This legacy coil is not a substitute for the supplied 2WA valve's coil.
CDA170B
Existing legacy terminal coil — connector Separately ordered terminal connector for the legacy CDA170 coil used on 2WX05015B; use the hookup drawing and confirm the terminal interface. It is not assigned to CLA flying-lead coils or the new 110/160 coil family. The drawing does not define a supplied kit or component quantities.
PL3030
Supplied 2WA valve — service coil Separately ordered replacement coil for the supplied 2WAX05015B: DC24V, terminal / DIN entry, 16.0 mm bore, normally-closed application (no K state code), with default Class F insulation (no H suffix). Verify the exact coil nameplate and the appropriate direct-acting or internally-piloted valve data. Do not substitute the legacy 116/170 family or assume its terminal connectors fit this coil.
CDA160B
Supplied 2WA valve — mounting bracket Optional mounting bracket for the supplied 2WAX05015B, corresponding to the 2WA 050 selection. Check the new-generation mounting drawing and order separately; inclusion and packing quantity are not specified. This does not establish interchangeability with the legacy bracket.
F-2WA050LB

Optional Piping Accessories

M groups the supplied 2WA valve’s two separate PT1/2 female process connections for the compressed-air-only application described here. Connect each port independently; M does not define flow direction. Do not join or bypass the two ports. U identifies an optional upstream compressed-air supply filter/regulator with PT1/2 female IN and OUT ports; it is an installation role, not a fixed valve-port label. Follow the actual valve flow markings and the correct generation’s drawing, and connect through separately specified matching male pipework. No external pilot, atmospheric exhaust or manifold route is assigned. Multiple keys retain each use. Tube OD is mm (in = inches); compression/tubing show OD × ID. These piping accessories are optional and ordered separately.

Code-prefix uses (match the longest listed family prefix): BB male–male; BD male–female; BKC compression fitting; BPC metal straight; BPOC metal straight; GAFR upstream filter-regulator; PC straight; PEB branch tee; PED run tee; PH banjo elbow; PHF female branch banjo; PHW twin banjo; PL elbow; PLL extended elbow; POC round straight; PYB Y; PZB cross; UE PU tube; US PU tube.

These options are ordered separately for clean, positive-pressure compressed air only; they do not cover the valve’s water or oil service. Match the supplied 2WA generation and its exact PT/G/NPT thread. Use the specified thread seal or face gasket, and verify installation clearance and required flow. PT, G and NPT threads are not interchangeable.

Each female main port needs its own matching male connection. Match tube OD and compression OD/ID; metric and inch sizes are not interchangeable. Use suitable soft nylon/PU tube and check seating, clearance, bends and flow. Tighten compression bodies by the hex, not tube nuts. Where listed: D is black, blank grey, -M miniature; -S denotes only the specified 304 stainless parts.

PHF fittings use male RA at the selected main port; female RB requires its own matching male thread and seal and is not a tube socket. Match both adapter ends to their separate mating parts. Branch fittings stay within the intended side of the circuit; do not connect or bypass the valve’s two main ports.

This direct-acting configuration has a maximum operating differential of 3 MPa; its catalog does not state a separate minimum. Differential pressure is inlet pressure minus outlet pressure, not an independent line-pressure rating. Proof pressure is not a continuous working rating. Keep the actual valve differential within its limits and the pressure at each fitting or tube within that component’s rating.

The valve’s air range is −20–90°C and ambient range −20–70°C; air dew point must be −20°C or lower. Apply every stricter accessory temperature and pressure limit. Neither the valve’s 90°C air limit nor a component’s higher temperature limit extends another component’s rating. These combinations do not establish vacuum, water or oil service capability.

Standard push-in fittings: ≤1 MPa, −20–70°C. Metal BPC/BPOC: ≤0.9 MPa; compression fittings/thread adapters: ≤1 MPa. The listed metal push-in, compression and adapter groups have a 0–150°C range. Their use in this assembly is limited to 0–70°C or narrower by the valve’s ambient limit and every connected component; pressure at each fitting or tube must stay within its own rating.

GAFR serves U only as an optional upstream compressed-air supply filter/regulator. Its female IN and OUT ports require separately specified matching male pipework of the same thread standard and size. Follow IN → OUT and the valve’s actual flow direction; U does not make a particular valve port the inlet. Keep the two valve ports separate. These standard configurations have no reverse-flow valve: do not use them where reverse flow is required, in an exhaust path or for water/oil service.

GAFR maximum inlet pressure is 1 MPa; standard regulation is 0.15–0.9 MPa; proof pressure is 1.5 MPa, not a working rating. It does not provide 1 MPa regulated output. Operating temperature is −5–70°C without freezing. Select a setting that satisfies the actual valve inlet/outlet differential and every component’s local pressure limits; the valve’s differential limit is not the regulator’s inlet limit. Check required flow and bowl/environment suitability. A 40 µm filter does not establish the required −20°C air dew point; suitable air drying must be provided independently.

The complete GAFR codes select standard S regulation, differential/manual drain, a bracket, round snap-in pressure gauge, 40 µm filtration and no reverse-flow valve. The listed GAFR200/300/400 configurations use the default PC bowl. Gauge units for this thread option are MPa/psi. Other published options change the complete code; do not omit a mandatory C or infer an unlisted size/configuration.

US98A/UE95A examples are separately ordered blue 100 m metric PU coils rated 1 MPa at 23°C. US98A: −20–70°C; UE95A: −40–70°C. Match OD/ID and derate as temperature rises within all valve, fitting and tube limits; 1 MPa is not assured throughout. Use inch tube where the selected connection requires it; metric tube is not a substitute.

Items marked discontinued are historical service references, not current standard recommendations. Confirm availability or a manufacturer-approved replacement. An unmarked catalogue entry does not promise current production, stock or delivery.
