AirTAC 2L vs 2LA: Dimensions and Replacement Guide

Ordering and Delivery

Orders for 2L15015E will be supplied as 2LA15015E (2LA). This is our ordering and delivery policy. It does not mean that the old and new dimensions, mounting details or electrical data are identical. The technical information below describes 2L15015E in the 2L catalog. For the supplied replacement, check the new catalog and comparison guide before installation.

Operation and Construction

This two-port, two-position valve is normally closed in its unenergized state. The valve uses internal pilot operation and requires the stated pressure differential to operate. The catalog specifies a SUS304 stainless-steel body, a PTFE (Teflon) standard seal, Class H coil insulation and IP65 coil protection. The compact construction is intended to make installation and removal convenient.

Model Code Explained

Code position Meaning for this model
Family 2L — 2/2-way internally piloted, normally closed
Size code 150 — 15 mm orifice
Port-size code 15 — PT1/2
Voltage code E — AC24V
Electrical-entry code Omitted — terminal
Thread code Omitted — PT

Technical Specifications

Parameter Details
Actuation and normal state Internally piloted; normally closed
Suitable fluids Steam, high-temperature water and oil
Orifice diameter 15 mm
Flow coefficient Cv 5.50
Effective flow area 100 mm²
Operating pressure differential 0.05–1 MPa differential (inlet pressure minus outlet pressure).
Proof pressure 1.5 MPa
Body material SUS304 stainless steel
Standard seal PTFE (Teflon)
Viscosity limit Under 20 cSt in the general specification; see the separate low-oil-temperature footnote below.
Oil temperature −10 to 150°C; the −10°C entry carries a footnote stating 50 cSt or less.
Water temperature 1 to 150°C
Steam temperature Maximum 183°C; the minimum is not stated.
Ambient temperature −20 to 100°C
Catalog reference weight 675 g; terminal version.

Operating differential is the pressure difference across the valve, not an independent flow rating. The general viscosity limit and the oil-temperature footnote are both retained from the source; they must be checked together for the intended fluid. Catalog weight is a reference value; the actual product prevails.

Electrical Specifications

Parameter Details
Rated voltage AC24V
Electrical entry terminal connector
Coil family listed for this valve CDA116
Supply tolerance ±15%
Supply frequency 50 or 60 Hz; consumption differs with frequency.
Power consumption 10 VA at 50 Hz; 8 VA at 60 Hz
Catalog temperature rise 35°C at 50 Hz; 30°C at 60 Hz
Coil insulation Class H
Coil protection IP65

External and Mounting Dimensions

The following values are from the 2L terminal drawing, PDF page 4 (printed page 213). Each letter refers to its own dimension line. Values are in millimetres except threads; “—” means that the source does not list a value.

Drawing reference Current configuration
A — drawing length A 77 mm
AB — body span AB 70 mm
B — drawing width B 46 mm
BA — port-side span BA 27.5 mm
C — drawing height C 107 mm
D — drawing dimension D 80 mm
E — drawing dimension E 6.4 mm
EA — drawing dimension EA 8 mm
EB — drawing dimension EB 65 mm
EC — drawing dimension EC 36.5 mm
F — drawing dimension F 30.5 mm
P — fluid port thread P PT1/2

The drawing labels the mounting bracket as optional. D, E, EA, EB, EC and F are separate installation references; do not combine dimension lines into an invented overall measurement.

For detailed product dimensions and mounting drawings, please download and refer to the PDF catalog.

Flow and Performance Charts

This configuration has a 15 mm orifice, Cv 5.50 and 100 mm² effective area.

The catalog provides a chart labelled “Fluid: Vacuum” showing P2, upstream-pressure curves P1, a minimum-working-pressure boundary, subsonic/sonic regions and a critical-pressure boundary. Its Q axis is labelled L/min (ANR), with separate scales for Ø15, Ø20, Ø25, Ø35, Ø40 and Ø50 mm. The P2 chart reaches 1.0 MPa. The water chart plots Q in L/min against ΔP=P1−P2 in MPa; marked scales run from 0.02 to 0.5 MPa and 30 to 900 L/min. Its large intermediate curve is labelled Ø32, while the 320 ordering/specification table states a Ø35 mm orifice; retain this source distinction when reading the graph.

Read the actual curve for the operating condition in the PDF. Axis maxima, plotted endpoints and other bore-size curves are not guaranteed flow ratings for this model; no interpolated flow claim is added here.

Internal Structure Reference

The catalog cross-section is labelled 2L150 (grommet). The numbered names below identify that reference drawing; they are not a packing list, individual ordering codes, quantities or a claim that every branch has an identical construction.

Mounting Accessories and Selection

The catalog accessory selection identifies F-2S150LB as the optional LB mounting bracket for this size branch. The valve drawing shows an optional bracket; the catalog does not identify it as included with the valve or list its packing quantity. Order the bracket separately when required, after confirming the mounting arrangement.

Match the full voltage, electrical entry, thread and normal-state configuration. A valve series update does not establish that its old coil, connector or mounting bracket fits the new generation. Follow the flow direction shown on the body and check the exact catalog drawing before installation.

Series Ordering Options

The following are available choices within 2L. The current model uses only the configuration decoded above; H applies to the direct-acting 030/050 branches.
