AirTAC 2KW vs 2KWA Solenoid Valves: Length, Dimensions and Replacement Guide
Compare AirTAC 2KW and 2KWA dimensions, terminal and grommet layouts, pressure ranges, coils, reference weights and our old-to-new supply policy.
AirTAC 2KW and 2KWA are brass-body 2/2-way fluid-control valve families with normally open operation. Both catalogs separate the direct-acting 030/050 sizes from the internally piloted 150/200/250 sizes. The new family changes the coil assembly and several installation dimensions; the added A does not mean every dimension remains the same.
What we supply for an old-model order
Under our store's replacement policy, an order for a legacy 2KW valve is supplied as the corresponding 2KWA valve, retaining the applicable size, port, pressure-condition, voltage, electrical-entry and thread selections. For example, 2KW03008B is supplied as 2KWA03008B, and 2KW15015BIT is supplied as 2KWA15015BIT.
This is our ordering and supply policy. The PDFs provide the technical data below; they are not evidence that every installation dimension or coil is interchangeable. Separate mounting accessories require their own ordering-code check.

Read the operating principle by size
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| 030 and 050 sizes | Direct acting, normally open. X, H, standard and L options. |
| 150, 200 and 250 sizes | Internally piloted, normally open; 15, 20 and 25 mm orifices respectively. The operating pressure differential is 0.05-0.7 MPa. |
| What the size code means | 030/050 identify direct-acting size groups; their pressure-condition letters can change the actual orifice. For example, X030 has a 1.5 mm orifice while standard 030 has a 3 mm orifice. |
Port, orifice and flow comparisons
For the following branches, the two PDFs retain the listed orifice, Cv and effective-area values. This agreement does not remove the need to compare pressure limits and installation drawings.
| Direct-acting branch | Matching published flow and pressure values |
|---|---|
| X / 030 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø1.5 mm; Cv 0.1; effective area 1.8 mm²; maximum ΔP 2 MPa |
| H / 030 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø2 mm; Cv 0.18; effective area 3 mm²; maximum ΔP 1.5 MPa |
| standard / 030 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø3 mm; Cv 0.33; effective area 6 mm²; maximum ΔP 0.7 MPa |
| L / 030 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø4 mm; Cv 0.55; effective area 10 mm²; maximum ΔP 0.4 MPa |
| X / 050 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø3 mm; Cv 0.34; effective area 6.1 mm²; maximum ΔP 2 MPa |
| H / 050 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø4 mm; Cv 0.55; effective area 10 mm²; maximum ΔP 1.5 MPa |
| standard / 050 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø5 mm; Cv 0.83; effective area 15 mm²; maximum ΔP 0.7 MPa |
| L / 050 | Old 2KW and new 2KWA: Ø7 mm; Cv 1.4; effective area 25 mm²; maximum ΔP 0.4 MPa |
| Internally piloted branch | Values in both catalogs |
|---|---|
| 150 / port 15 | Ø15 mm; Cv 5.5; area 100 mm²; port 1/2 in |
| 200 / port 20 | Ø20 mm; Cv 9.5; area 170 mm²; port 3/4 in |
| 250 / port 25 | Ø25 mm; Cv 12.5; area 220 mm²; port 1 in |
The direct-acting proof pressure is 3.0 MPa; the internally piloted proof pressure is 1.5 MPa. Proof pressure and maximum operating pressure differential describe different conditions.
Length and height: compare the correct connector version
All measurements below are millimeters from the dimension tables, not estimates from a product photograph. A is the span marked A in the stated terminal or grommet drawing. AB is separately tabulated for terminal drawings and direct-acting grommet drawings. For pilot grommet drawings, the catalog uses A for the body span and does not provide an AB column.
| Drawing / configuration | 2KW → 2KWA dimensions (mm) |
|---|---|
| standard 030, terminal | A: 72.5 → 70; AB: 40 → 37; B: 29.5 → 25; C: 76 → 77.5; KA: 40 → 40 |
| standard 030, grommet | A: 41 → 40; AB: 40 → 37; B: 29.5 → 25; C: 76 → 74; KA: 40 → 40 |
| standard 050, terminal | A: 89.5 → 83; AB: 52 → 50; B: 39 → 38; C: 92 → 90; KA: 48 → 48 |

| standard 200, grommet | A: 82 → 79.5; B: 53 → 51; C: 121 → 116; D: 90 → 87.5; E: 6.4 → 6.5; EC: 40 → 38 |
| standard 250, terminal | A: 81 → 77.5; AB: 92 → 90; B: 59 → 57; C: 129.5 → 126; D: 95 → 93; E: 6.4 → 6.5; EC: 44.5 → 42 |

Catalog consistency note - terminal 200 and 250 sizes: The drawings depict A as a span that includes AB, but the tabulated A values are smaller than AB. The legacy 200 table gives A = 78.5 and AB = 82; the new 200 table gives A = 75.5 and AB = 79.5. For 250, the legacy table gives A = 81 and AB = 92; the new table gives A = 77.5 and AB = 90. All values are millimeters and are retained as printed. A must not be treated as a verified overall length for these terminal configurations; obtain a confirmed manufacturer drawing before setting installation clearance. Do not silently substitute AB for A or guess a corrected value.
For the direct-acting 030 and 050 groups, X, H, standard and L share their group's dimension row. Port suffixes within the same size still select the actual port thread; this table does not convert PT, G or NPT into one interchangeable thread.
Mounting details that a length-only comparison misses
| Branch | Old → new drawing details (mm) |
|---|---|
| 030 direct acting | B: 29.5 → 25; D: 20 → 19; bracket-hole diameter K: 5.3 → 5.5; PA: 10 → 9.5; QA: 16 → 13.5. KA remains 40. Q remains M5. |
| 050 direct acting | B: 39 → 38; E: 56 → 57; K: 5.3 → 5.5; PA: 13 → 12.5; QA: 23 → 19.5. D remains 26 and KA remains 48. Q remains M5. |
| 150 pilot | Body span (terminal AB / grommet A): 70 → 67.5; D: 80 → 77.5; E: 6.4 → 6.5; EC: 36.5 → 35; F: 30.5 → 29.5. |
| 200 pilot | Body span (terminal AB / grommet A): 82 → 79.5; D: 90 → 87.5; E: 6.4 → 6.5; EC: 40 → 38; F: 34 → 33. |
| 250 pilot | Body span (terminal AB / grommet A): 92 → 90; D: 95 → 93; E: 6.4 → 6.5; EC: 44.5 → 42; F: 36 → 35. |
The optional bracket outline is included in some drawing spans. Match the diagram as well as the number: terminal and grommet layouts do not label every span identically, and a valve drawing is not a standalone bracket manufacturing drawing.

Coils, insulation and temperature rise
| Valve branch | Electrical comparison |
|---|---|
| 030 | Terminal coil CDA116 → CDA110K; corresponding grommet designation uses CLA. AC 50/60 Hz: 15/11 VA → 15/11 VA; DC: 6.5 → 6.5 W. |
| 050 | Terminal coil CDA170 → CDA160K; corresponding grommet designation uses CLA. AC 50/60 Hz: 35/30 VA → 35/30 VA; DC: 12 → 12 W. |
| 150 / 200 / 250 | Terminal coil CDA116 → CDA110K; corresponding grommet designation uses CLA. AC 50/60 Hz: 15/11 VA → 15/11 VA; DC: 6.5 → 6.5 W. |
Both families list A = 220 V AC, B = 24 V DC, C = 110 V AC, E = 24 V AC and F = 12 V DC. AC tolerance is ±15%; DC tolerance is ±10%. Terminal and grommet entries are separate options; the grommet wire length is 0.5 m. Both catalogs state IP65.
The legacy 2KW coil tables state Class B. The new 2KWA coil tables and feature descriptions state Class F.
| Branch | Tabulated coil temperature rise, old → new |
|---|---|
| 030 | AC 50 Hz: 50 → 50°C; AC 60 Hz: 40 → 45°C; DC: 30 → 50°C. |
| 050 | AC 50 Hz: 65 → 65°C; AC 60 Hz: 60 → 60°C; DC: 40 → 50°C. |
| 150 / 200 / 250 | AC 50 Hz: 50 → 50°C; AC 60 Hz: 40 → 45°C; DC: 30 → 50°C. |
Media, seals and operating temperatures
Both families specify a brass body and standard FPM-F seals, with air, water and oil as applicable media. The general viscosity limit is below 20 cSt. Alternative seal materials require a separate selection.
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Water | 1 to 80°C |
| Air | -20 to 90°C; catalog note: dew point -20°C or lower |
| Oil | -10 to 80°C; the catalog retains a 50 cSt-or-less footnote at the low-temperature condition |
| Ambient | -20 to 70°C |
These media and ambient limits are separate from coil temperature rise. Retain the general viscosity limit and the oil footnote as separate catalog conditions.
Reference weights and source footnotes
| Size and port | Old → new catalog weight |
|---|---|
| 030, 1/8 in | Terminal reference: 315 → 245 g. Grommet reference: 305 → 235 g. |
| 030, 1/4 in | Terminal reference: 305 → 235 g. Grommet reference: 295 → 225 g. |
| 050, 3/8 in | Terminal reference: 635 → 530 g. Grommet reference: 615 → 510 g. |
| 050, 1/2 in | Terminal reference: 615 → 510 g. Grommet reference: 595 → 490 g. |
| 150, 1/2 in | Terminal reference: 730 → 575 g. Grommet reference: 720 → 565 g. |
| 200, 3/4 in | Terminal reference: 960 → 735 g. Grommet reference: 950 → 725 g. |
| 250, 1 in | Terminal reference: 1210 → 1035 g. Grommet reference: 1200 → 1025 g. |
The table values are terminal-entry references. The catalogs explicitly reduce the 030 and 150/200/250 grommet-entry weights by 10 g, and the 050 grommet-entry weight by 20 g. These are catalog reference weights; they are not individual measured weights or bracket weights.
Internal construction and accessory ordering
The internal-structure keys differ between the two catalogs. The legacy and new versions have different numbered components and coil-retention arrangements. These reference illustrations do not establish that an old coil or internal service part fits the new valve.
A structure-key item number is not a package quantity or an independent accessory order code.
The legacy 2KW document refers to the shared 2S accessory ordering pages. The new 2KWA document refers to the 2WA accessory ordering pages. The new source codes are F-2WA030LB, F-2WA050LB, F-2WA150LB, F-2WA200LB and F-2WA250LB. A store listing with a different family label must be checked against that source designation; a valve replacement policy does not automatically establish bracket compatibility.
How to check a replacement before ordering
- Match the full model code, including pressure option, actual orifice, port thread, voltage and terminal or grommet entry.
- Read the correct direct-acting or internally piloted section; the latter requires its stated minimum pressure differential.
- Compare A, C and the body/mounting spans in the correct electrical-entry drawing. Check connector clearance as well as piping and bracket positions.
- Use tabulated Cv and effective area for the selected branch. Air and water chart axes are reading scales, not guaranteed rated flow.
- Select any separate LB mounting accessory by its catalog source code and the actual valve installation.
